Thanks to increased funding from Employment and Social Development Canada, CHRC is supporting even more cultural sector employers and future workers! The SWP program connects students to cultural sector employers with wage subsidies of up to $7,500 to cover the student’s salary in meaningful work integrated learning (WIL) experiences, that allow students to acquire work-ready skills. You can now learn more about the Student Work Placement Program on our webpage! We have provided important details such as the objectives of the program, the eligibility for the stakeholders of the program, as well as our priority funding groups. We also feature a frequently asked questions section. Who knows? Your questions may already be answered there! In an effort to move forward collectively on Inclusion Diversity, Equity & Belonging, we invite you to participate in the Cross-Sectoral Recovery Roundtable (CSRR) survey. This survey will help guide the discussions with the CSRR group based on your suggested priorities, while we work towards resources for all cultural sector stakeholders. Responses will remain anonymous. The results and general conclusions may be aggregated for public dissemination only after review by the CSRR Caucus Representatives. Thank you for your efforts and interest in working together towards better cultural workplaces and practices. The survey will remain open until October 22nd at 12:00pm, click HERE to participate.
CHRC continues to offer Respectful Workplaces in the Arts (RWA) workshops. Hurry the subsidized workshops are only available till March 31st, 2022! The workshops are intended for non-profit organizations and cultural workers in any of the cultural disciplines or industries: managers, administrators, technical personnel, Board members, volunteers and, obviously, artists. Organizations that can bring together anywhere between 8 and 90 participants are invited to request to host a workshop. Autumn is a great time to get together with your staff and/or members (virtually or in-person where permitted) to discuss this important topic. Renewed thanks to the Department of Canadian Heritage for the funding support!
