Welcome to the
CHRC Newsletter
October 2024

Dear readers,

We hope this newsletter finds you well!

Only 3 months to go before 2025, we’re starting this newsletter with a call to action: please ensure your organization has provided workplace Code of Conduct and anti-harassment training and information. No time to prepare for that? We’ve got you covered (see our first news item)!

“There is too much expectation placed on businesses to know these polices. There needs to be a system in place to make sure that the information reaches them.” – Hamilton participant, 2021

At CHRC, we agree and we’re happy to oblige.

Here’s what others had to say…

“I had a wonderful learning opportunity at the CHRC workshop and want to thank you for making the connections to set it up (…) a very rich curriculum and I am very impressed with the materials that have been compiled for the sessions.” – Toronto participant working in Heritage

“This workshop went at a great pace. It was thoughtful and well curated.” – Vancouver participant

“Excellent, clearly and compellingly delivered. Discussion was lively and case studies very eye-opening and informative.” – St. John’s participant

We’ll have more to offer in the coming weeks but we wanted to make sure you could block some time off in your schedule.

Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Kind regards,

Grégoire

Last call for the individual revenue survey!

CHRC will be closing the individual revenue survey at the end of October. Survey participants will receive the results and analysis for free. Quickly, fill out the survey!

CHRC on the road!

At the end of September, CHRC visited Toronto to facilitate a series of presentations on The Art of Managing Your Career (TAMYC) and Respectful Workplaces in the Arts (RWA). TAMYC provides self-employed artists & cultural workers practical information to better manage their careers, while RWA is a national campaign that aims at providing employers and workers the resources to shape safer & healthier work environments, free from all forms of harassment.

We also had the pleasure of participating in onsite employer/intern visits for the Student Work Placement and Young Canada Works programs. We’re so glad to see the amazing impacts for and by arts & culture individuals and organizations.

Thank you to our friends at Work in Culture for hosting us!

In October, we’ll be visiting St. John’s, Niagara and Sherbrooke.
Let us know if you’d like to meet up.

Information Sessions

Do you have questions/inquiries about our programs (internships or otherwise)? Join us at our weekly bilingual info sessions, Thursdays at 1 pm EDT.
