Canada's federally-funded Work Integrated Learning delivery partners are asking the Government of Canada to reinvest in WIL in Budget 2024

Dear CHRC readers (including employers and students!):

We need your help! Canada's federally-funded Work Integrated Learning (WIL) delivery partners (SWPP, iWIL, BHER) are asking the Government of Canada to reinvest in WIL in Budget 2024.

Finance Canada launched its pre-budget consultation. It run until February 9, 2024. This is separate from the Parliamentary Finance Committee's pre-budget consultations. Find the consultation website here.

Importantly, the survey's first question asks: What policy do you think would best create jobs and grow the economy? And one of the options listed includes WIL: "Support the younger generation to find good job opportunities, with affordable education, apprenticeship opportunities, co-op placements, and internships."

We're calling on you to fill out the survey and to encourage everyone in your networks to do the same. This is an incredible opportunity to have your voice heard, to show the government that investing in WIL is one of the best ways to create jobs and grow the economy, and to help ensure that federal funding for WIL remains a top priority of the government.
