Visual Arts and Crafts

> Background

Over the years, CHRC has worked with visual artists and crafts people to help them address their HR needs. These have been particularly evident in the area of training for business skills to make their livelihood through their art. CHRC has also been working with colleges and universities that teach the fine arts to encourage them to include courses that prepare emerging artists for the "business" of being an artist.

For statistics on the visual arts and crafts, consult other CHRC publications: Cultural Sector Fast Stats (PDF) and Canada's Cultural Sector Labour Force (PDF).

The Cultural Human Resources Council strives to be at the centre of vision and forward thinking in the areas of cultural human resources development. We hope that this online guide and resources will help you to achieve your professional vision, by providing a map of the skills and training you need to find success in your chosen field.
